New EuCAN habitat management contract for Butterfly Conservation in Somerset

We have just successfully completed a second habitat management contract for Butterfly Conservation on Mount Fancy Farm reserve in Somerset. Using a team of up to 8 subcontractors we cleared a large area of sallow, bramble and blackthorn scrub from the very biodiverse patchwork of small fields at the Higher Shutes Farm end of the reserve. On the new extension at the southern end of the reserve we also cleared a large area of overgrown sallow on the landslips and wet flushes there. Altogether we completed 55 mandays of work and are very pleased with the results.
