Daniel Greenwood who took part in the EuCAN visit to northern Spain in 2011 now works with the London Wildlife Trust and has organised this year’s Dawn Chorus bird walk. click here to see the poster. The meeting point is the Crescent Wood Road entrance into Sydenham Hill Wood at 4:45am, aiming to begin by 5am. The walk will be led by the Wood’s official bird surveyor Dave Clark, who has a wealth of knowledge about the birds there and in surrounding sites such as Dulwich, Belair and Crystal Palace Park. This is a free walk but donations are welcome.
There is a good possibility of the following species: Great, blue, coal and long-tailed tit, robin, wren, nuthatch, blackbird, song thrush, tawny owl, chiffchaff, blackcap, sparrowhawk, and ring necked parakeet amongst others.
