Somerset

EuCAN CIC has become more and more involved with nature conservation in Somerset through its links with the Somerset and Bristol branch of Butterfly Conservation and the butterfly reserves in the Neroche Forest area – see these links to Contracting and Neroche.

  • In 2013 EuCAN established a local group based at Milverton on the western edge of the county close to Exmoor.
  • In early 2014, EuCAN merged with the Somerset Volunteers who were originally part of the BTCV network – their Somerset office was closing and their coordinator being transferred elsewhere.

This new group will be the EuCAN Somerset Volunteers – click here for the link. Once this group is established, there will be a programme of weekly tasks and we shall be looking for clients – so far these include the National Trust, The Somerset Wildlife Trust, Natural England and Butterfly Conservation.
