Tree work around Ninesprings lake in Yeovil Country Park

We will be working at Ninesprings Lake to help manage the treeline around the one section of the lake.  Many of the trees are overhanging the lake which limits opportunities for emergent and marginal vegetation in this area. YRCTs plans are to plant the area up with emergent and marginal plants to help with phytoremediation of pollutants that largely wash down from farmland upstream, alongside planting species which are attractive food sources for the water voles.

This task requires some volunteers to be in waders in waist high water. We will also need a number of people on our raft and bankside helping to process the arisings. There’ll be something for everyone!
