Somerset EuCAN volunteers grass and sedge cutting at West Coker Fen

West Coker Fen, near Yeovil

Today the EuCAN Somerset Volunteers will be working at West Coker fen for the Somerset Wildlife Trust, continuing the task of cutting and removing some of the biomass from an area of the fen to increase the diversity of wildflowers there, mimicking the traditional haymaking systems that would have formerly been applied there. Best to wear wellies and long trousers. Bring your lunch, plenty to drink and some stout gloves.
Registered brushcutter users need to wear suitable PPE.
Park at the end of the track leading to the reserve at 9.30am. (see map)
