Sandford Heath - Rhododendron control Dorset Mid-week Volunteers

The green barrier on the Holton Heath road

This week we shall be cutting mature Rhododendron on Sandford Heath.

We shall aim to cut most of it with hand tools, being careful about possible nesting birds.

We may use chainsaws on larger stems. (Can certificated operators please let me know whether they would be available).

All material will be cut and stacked, with a possible burning up task in the Autumn/Winter.

Please let us know if you would like a seat in the minibus – depart Preston, Weymouth. 0730, depart Weymouth (Lynch Lane) approx 0830 (please let us know if you intend to be there), depart Dorchester South Station approx 0900.

Other pick-ups en-route by arrangement.

Aim to meet on site for 10:00.
