Last week we brushcut all the grass and other vegetation on the Lenthay field hoping that with the forecast for fair weather for a week (!) we might be able to bale it for the ponies for the winter! The weather gods had other ideas and the rainy season has now returned. Anyway, the ponies refused to eat a sample I offered them – it was very stalky with all the vetch and selfheal in it. So we are now left with the job of raking off the grass from the Lenthay allotment field into heaps prior to removal.
We shall meet at the field entrance at the end of Hunt’s Mead at 9.30am but join us later if you cannot get there for the start.
Also bring your lunch and drinks for refreshment.
