Perryfield Quarry Reserve, Portland

Perryfield Quarry off Wakeham Portland

Today we shall be making our annual maintenance visit to this little reserve. Despite its size, it is an important site for butterflies  The main job will be to cut and rake off the rank grass, straggly bramble and ivy but there will also be encroaching scrub regrowth to cut back.
Meet for a 10am start in the Church Ope cove carpark – see map.

Bring loppers, bowsaw and secateurs if you have them – and your refreshments and lunch.
Please let me know if you would like to attend and include your phone number so that I can call or text you if we need to change the plans because of the weather

This task has been re-scheduled several times mainly because of the weather!

The Dorset branch of Butterfly Conservation and EuCAN will be collaborating with the Dorset Wildlife Trust on tasks on a variety of sites on Portland on the second and last Fridays of each month.
For further information contact nigelspring@yahoo.co.uk /tel: 07981.776767 for the task on the second Friday of each month,
