Lepidoptera and Botanical Training weekend June 14th - 16th 2013

We will be holding a second training weekend at Springhead in east Dorset – an idyllic study centre on the edge of Cranborne Chase, with the chalk downland reserves of Fontmell Down, Clubmen’s Down and Melbury Beacon within walking distance. The weekend will include a botanical identification course on the Saturday with Bryan Edwards, Senior recorder for the Dorset Environmental Records Centre, and a butterfly identification and ecology course on the Sunday which will also cover butterfly monitoring by transect walking. In addition we shall be putting out moth traps on both nights so there will be plenty of opportunity to get to know a good selection of summer species. Further information soon.
