Lankham Bottom Butterfly Reserve - ragwort control

Lankham Bottom Butterfly Reserve near Cattistock

If you can help us with the cutting or pulling, or with the collecting up of the material for dumping, please let me know. If you have a ragfork or a small longhandled border fork, please bring it. We will provide the other tools for the work.

Ragwort is a valuable plant for insects (not just Cinnabar moths, possibly 40 species benefit from it) so I think we have to learn to live with it. Please join us if you can. (let me know in advance if possible).
We shall be meeting at 8.30am at the reserve entrance – but park inside the second gate and walk to find us if you arrive late (see map at top of page – link underlined).
Bring your own gloves, refreshments and lunch, and make sure you wear tick-proof clothing.
