Alners Gorse Butterfly Reserve - seasonal habitat management work

Alners Gorse Butterfly Reserve, Hazelbury Bryan

Today we will be continuing with our routine maintenance work – cutting and raking off scrub regrowth – bramble, sallow and blackthorn mainly – and pollarding some of the sallow trees in the ditch beside the main track.

If you have helped us on Alners Gorse in the past, we would love to see you again! We shall aim to start at 8.30am, meeting in the carpark. Please park off the main road on the verge as the carpark is too wet for vehicles. Walk down to find us if you arrive later. Bring lunch and hot drinks,  and loppers and bowsaw if you have them. Brushcutter and chainsaw operators please bring PPE.
