Alners Gorse Butterfly Reserve - seasonal habitat management work

Alners Gorse Butterfly Reserve, Hazelbury Bryan

Today we will be continuing with our routine maintenance work – cutting and raking off scrub regrowth in the wood and pollarding some of the sallow trees to let more light in; there are water troughs to clean out too.

If you have helped us on Alners Gorse in the past, we would love to see you again! We shall aim to start at 8.30am, meeting in the carpark. It may be possible to take the tools down in the 4×4. Please walk down to find us if you arrive later. Bring lunch and hot drinks,  and loppers and bowsaw if you have them. Brushcutter and chainsaw operators please bring PPE.
