Today we shall be cutting and raking off the grass in most of this field in order to gradually enhance the floweriness of the area (part of it is being allowed to grow long as an area for voles and other wildlife to thrive)
ALL WELCOME! It is a very nice little site.
Sadly the grass is not of a good enough quality to make hay with – even if the weather remained dry for long enough! So we shall be raking it off and dumping it a pile on the edge where the grass snakes and slow-worms will appreciate it. Meet round the back of the field for a 9am start – come and find us if you arrive later. Bring lunch and gloves and wear tickproof clothing.
