Dorset Midweek Volunteers at Glebe Farm Maiden Newton 21.6.23
We shall be working on Natural England’s recently acquired Glebe Farm, which lies adjacent to Hog Cliff National Nature Reserve .
Our main task will be to remove old fencing and fence posts, and to cut a path through a large nettle patch..
We shall also be given a tour of the new site, and learn how NE intends to manage it.
With ref to the maps below:.
Enter from the A356 Dorchester to Maiden Newton road, go under the railway bridge, turn left, and park along the track.
Hand tools, post removers, and a couple of brushcutters (operators please come prepared).
The site is new to us, so NE will advise of the risk assessment, but for now assume hazards will include uneven ground, slips and trips, barbed wire, muscle strains, and ticks (so long sleeves and long trousers advised).
