Today we’ll be back at Broadcroft Quarry Butterfly Reserve, removing the invasive Buddleia, clematis and thorn scrub regrowth on several areas of the reserve. This will involve loppers, bowsaws and secateurs.

The Dorset branch of Butterfly Conservation and EuCAN will be collaborating on regular tasks on a variety of sites on Portland usually on Fridays and will always welcome new volunteers!
Meet at 9am next to the recycling centre at Broadcroft Quarry or walk to find us if you arrive later.  Bring tools if you have them, if not we can supply them – and bring your refreshments and lunch.
For further information contact nigelspring@yahoo.co.uk /tel or whatsapp: 07981.776767    It helps us with the planning if you can let us know if are hoping to join us for these tasks.(though not essential).
We created a number of new scrapes on the reserve last year to encourage the Silver-studded Blue butterflies and the ants that tend them.
