We are going to continue with the job of cutting the bramble and rank grass from some of the eastern area of the Curtis Field site, (the SANG) and raking into piles. We hope to do the burning up if the wind is favourable.
The butterflies and wildflowers have responded very quickly to the work we have done there over the last two years. We are also very careful to leave plenty of nesting places for the abundant bird life there. It wasn’t long ago that these fields were cattle pastures, a farm between Wyke Regis and Weymouth.
Meet at 9am at the southern end of Markham Avenue where there is now a gate to give access to the SNCI. see map. If you arrive later, please walk up to find us. Turn left at the top of the bank above the access gate.
