Clearing scrub to open up the wildflower-rich grassland as it used to be at Curtis Fields SNCI Weymouth

We shall be continuing our task of opening up some of the large blocks of scrub that have taken over this rich grassland site.
The butterflies and wildflowers have responded very quickly to the work we have done there over the last two years. We are also very careful to leave plenty of nesting places for the abundant bird life there. It wasn’t long ago that these fields were cattle pastures, a farm between Wyke Regis and Weymouth.
Meet at 8.30am at the southern end of Markham Avenue where there is now a gate to give access to the SNCI. see map. If you arrive later, please walk up to find us.
