Alners Gorse Butterfly Reserve, Hazelbury Bryan

Today we will be brushcutting the blackthorn scrub regrowth in the open areas of the reserve – timed for now so that the Brown Hairstreaks will not yet have laid eggs on the bushes.

The first Brown Hairstreak adults of the season have been seen this week.
If you would like to help us with the cutting and/or the raking up for all or part of the day, please let me know.
Bring a picnic lunch and wear tickproof (and thornproof) clothing. We’ll be starting at 8.30am but come and find us if you arrive later.
