Yeovil River Community Trust are working at Oak Tree Park ponds ahead of entering the site for the ‘It’s your neighbourhood’ category of Yeovil in Bloom.
In addition to finishing off the tree work we will be working around pond 2. This will include moving arisings from pond 1 tree work to build a hibernaculum at the grassland area next to pond 2 and work to tidy up around pond 2. Similar to our work on pond 1, we need to help to gently reprofile the pond to help it retain water for longer. We will use these soil arisings to create a soil layer on the new hibernaculum.
We shall meet at the site at 9.30am – What3words for meeting point (gate for pond 1): ///fashion.trailer.originate
