Species Recovery Trust

The Species Recovery Trust is a new charity set up to tackle the loss of some of the rarest species in the UK. There are over nine hundred native species in the UK that are classed as under threat, with several hundreds more currently widespread but known to be in significant decline. The New Forest Cicada, pictured above, is possibly already extinct. The Species Recovery Trust is committed to halting the loss of biodiversity in the UK, with a primary aim of removing 50 species from the edge of extinction in the UK by the year 2050.

You can help by offering to volunteer, becomeing a free supporter to receive updates on their work, or becoming a “species supporter” for £40 per year. More details on theSpecies Recovery Trust website.
