A public exhibition of naturally-dyed wool products supporting sustainable agriculture – at The Old School Gallery, Yetminster, Dorset DT9 6LF from February 2013, 10am – 4.30pm. Free entry, crafts, meals and refreshments for sale.
Rugs and ‘ruglets’ woven with wool spun from locally produced fleeces and dyed with natural dyes like Dyer’s Greenweed, Elderberry, beetroot, Telekia (from Romania), knapweed, sawwort, indigo etc. All the work of Kathy Henderson who will be running an introductory spinning workshop at the gallery on Friday March 1st 11am – 4pm. All welcome!
EuCAN CIC is hoping to develop workshops where local wool can be converted into useful and beautiful articles with a marketable value. All over Europe fleeces are discarded as they have no value and it is critically important to the subsistence sheep farmers to reestablish profitable outlets for their products.
