Curtis Fields SNCI Weymouth

Curtis Fields Weymouth - meeting in Cockles Lane.

There is a lot of catching up to do particularly on reducing the scrub which is rapidly closing up the network of glades and clearings which are vital for the wildflowers and insects. This is our first visit to Curtis Fields this season and we shall be catching up by taking out the regrowth on the scrub that we cleared last season, and planning the next few months work.
Meet at 9 am in Cockles Lane or walk along the lane to the entrance path into the Site of Nature Conservation Interest – see map.

We will provide the tools for the work, but please bring your own mug, hot drinks and snacks, your packed lunch and working gloves with you. If you have a bowsaw, secateurs and/or loppers please bring them.

If you are a chainsaw or brushcutter user, you will need your own PPE and you should have attended a refresher course in the last five years.
My phone number in case you cannot find us is 07981 776767.
If you would like to help, please get in touch by email or text. We would like to build up a team of volunteers for this site so please get in touch if you would like to be involved.
